Brookings

Brookings' Earned Income Tax series includes a host of reports and analysis of the EITC by one of Washington's oldest think tanks. Brookings is an independent, nonpartisan organization devoted to research, analysis, and public education. Brookings’ EITC Interactive also provides data by state, county, metropolitan area, zip code, and congressional district for each year between 1997 and 2008.

Center on Budget and Policy Priorities

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorties (CBPP) is one of the nation's premier policy organizations working at the federal and state levels on fiscal policy and public programs that affect low- and moderate-income families and individuals. They provide policy briefs on state and federal EITCs and topical analysis of policy issues dealing with the EITC. They also provide free EITC and other tax credit outreach materials in multiple languages.

North Carolina Justice Center

The NC Justice Center and its research arm, the Budget and Tax Center, provides timely analysis of tax and budget issues for the state, including many past and present studies related to the EITC and other means to support working families. Their landmark report "Making Work Pay" helped North Carolina become the 22nd State to adopt a state EITC.
